Offsite Activities
Children regularly visit places of local interest. Visits are part of the work planned for the year and complement activities taking
place in the classroom. Visits to Milestones museum, the Roman wall and Jane Austen’s house for instance link in with history projects. Children use the area immediately outside the school site as a stimulus for creative, geography and science work. Years 1 and 2 have recently visited Southsea to compare the town with Silchester. We also organise residential visits for older KS2 children. For several years, Year 6 pupils have enjoyed a week’s visit to Calshott Activity Centre, where the children have been able to try a variety of activities including sailing, climbing and abseiling.
