PTA

Parents are Partners

50 - 50 Club

Who are we?

We are all parents and teachers of the children at Silchester School.

You automatically become a member when your child starts this school. All parents / guardians are welcome at every meeting and are encouraged to participate fully.

We also maintain a healthy interaction with our local communities, the Silchester Association and Pamber Heath Parish Council especially. Many of our events overlap for mutual benefit financially and socially. The Autumn Craft Fair, Silchester Fun Run and the OAP Christmas get-together being annual examples.

The organisation is run via committee, within the bounds of its constitution, with the election of officers annually. All parents / guardians are welcome to the meetings (one per half term), after the officers they have an equal say in the organising of events and the spending of the money raised.

Office Current Officer (Sept 06 - July 07)

To help liaise with the classes, disseminate information and obtain help and support for PTA activities we enlist annually a team of class representatives, ideally two per year group.

What do we do?

We raise money to help the school provide the extras and some of the luxuries that we believe make a difference to the time our children spend at the school.

Most importantly we endeavor to have fun and involve everyone!

Annually we raise in the order of £8,000, running craft fairs, talent shows, discos, fun activities for the children, spring/summer fetes, sponsored events and all manner of inventive schemes to raise funds to support the children, teachers, equipment and fabric of Silchester School.

We are very proud of the continuing achievement all involved have and are making!
