The PTA is an association of all the parents or guardians of pupils at the school, all the teachers and staff and any carer or extended family member who wants to be involved.
We are very fortunate at Silchester School to have a PTA that is, and has been, such an integral part of the school community for many years. During this time, thousands of pounds have been raised which have been spent on improving equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education and the facilities in the school in general.
But the PTA is about so much more than just fundraising. It exists to promote closer links between home and school and it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents, pupils and friends together socially in support of our school, working towards a common goal.
In addition to events which are run with the primary aim of giving our children a good time and thanking families for their continued support, we also nominate a charity each year and aim to plan certain events, including our non-uniform days, specifically to raise money for this.
All parents or guardians are automatically members of the PTA when their children join the school, in addition to all the staff of the school, and you are all very welcome to get involved, even if you only have a small amount of time available. Getting involved will definitely benefit your child.
