There are many ways you can help and support your child through the PTA.
Offers of help before or at events are so valuable. It really doesn’t matter if you can’t help on a regular basis, or even if you can’t come in to school. There will at times be little jobs that can be done from home if you have half an hour to spare. We really couldn’t achieve what we do without the unseen army of help that exists in our school. If you simply don’t have time to offer, your enthusiasm for what the association is doing is really beneficial and please do try to support the events.
For carers or extended family members who would like to join the PTA, please complete a membership form.
Help with individual activities or projects might include:
- preparation before an event e.g. taking a box of materials and preparing craft activities
- publicity, print or design
- putting up posters
- baking cakes
- manning a stall
- serving refreshments
- setting up or clearing away
Please look out for PTA letters distributed with ‘pupil post’ informing you about forthcoming events and with requests for assistance. We will also keep you updated via the noticeboard inside the entrance gate where you will find information including the last event, the next event and Half Cut Club winners.
You can of course, if you feel able, volunteer to be a Class Representative or Committee Member. Or you can attend the AGM or Committee meetings and give us your ideas for fundraising events; this is also a good time to ask questions or voice your opinion. If you are not able to arrive for the start of the meeting or indeed have to leave before the end, you are still very welcome at any time.
Don’t worry; you’re not going to be press-ganged into doing anything more than you want to, but the more help we receive, the more we can achieve.
You can help us by letting us know if you have any contacts or skills we could use; everything is potentially valuable to us.
Finally, we are always extremely grateful to receive donations.
